AGENDA for Environment and Responsible Development (AGENDA) was established in 1994 as a three years project to contribute to the development of the business sector in Tanzania by promoting environmentally responsible, transparent and accountable business practices in the country with DANIDA support.
On concluding the project AGENDA was reconstituted as an autonomous Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and was officially registered in July 1997 by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Societies Ordinance, 1954 [Cap.337 (as amended)] with Reg. No. SO.NO.9108. AGENDA received a compliance certificate No. 1518 of 2005 in accordance to the NGOs Act 2002
To promote a culture of responsibility to the environment amongst the general public through awareness, advocacy, capacity building and stakeholders’ involvement in Tanzania and beyond.
Equitable socio-economic development is attained to all members of the public without causing adverse effects to human and environment.
